There’s a heat advisory for Yuma County through Wednesday, said Andy Mussoline, meteorologist with AccuWeather.com.
Mussoline said that means temperatures through Wednesday will be between 110 degrees and 115.
“That combined with the humidity across the area can certainly cause stress on the human body,” he said.
And the humidity is expected to stay elevated through the end of the week, he said.
With the average temperature around 106 degrees, he said this is higher than normal – and there’s a chance of stray afternoon thunderstorms Thursday and Friday.
Mussoline said if Yumans can, stay inside.
“If you do have to go outdoors, try not to have excessive activity, stay hydrated and if you could, wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothes.”
The high temperatures forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are 111, 112, 110 and 109, respectively. The overnight lows for Tuesday through Friday are 88, 87, 86 and 84, respectively.
