I’ve been flying with Delta for many years now. Usually I fly from AMS to Atlanta and then Phoenix.
My complaint/concern is that each time I land in Atlanta it takes longer to get through customs. And not because the people who want to see my passport or screen my luggage are more thorough but because there are too few of them. And especially the people looking at the passports seem to really enjoy taking their time doing it. They are sooooo slow!
I know Atlanta is an important hub for Delta. That’s why I wonder if there is nothing you can do about this. This time it took me one hour to get my passport inspected and another hour to get my luggage looked at. I was just in time to check in for my connecting flight. The time before I had to run to make it: I was one of the last persons on board.
I am already looking into KLM-flights that fly directly into LAX so I can rent a car there to drive to Arizona.
I hate to do this because I love Delta. But right now flying with you is Major Stress because I always fear I will miss my connection.

Dear Ms. Doomen,
Thank you for contacting Delta Air Lines.
We appreciate your comments. We would like you to know that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) assumes responsibility for security in the nation’s airports, including the screening of all passengers and baggage.
During the screening process, TSA screeners are trained to ensure that passengers’ contents are returned to their bag inthe same condition every time a bag needs to be opened. (huh?)
Please direct all claims questions to the TSA Consumer Response Center at 866-289-9673 (toll free in the USA). Claim forms are also available on TSA’s website.
Again, thank you for writing. We appreciate your selection of Delta and will always welcome the opportunity to be of service.
Sincerely,
Kynia Douglass
