When it’s warm outside, don’t forget to do a little scorpion hunting after dark.
There’s a purple UV flashlight located on the bottom shelf inside the pantry…turn it on, take it outside, and walk around the yard. Scorpions glow bright fluorescent green under UV light, so you’ll have no trouble spotting them.
Unfortunately, if you’re here during winter, them critters will be hibernating!
Just a reminder… our 2-acre property isn’t walled or fenced and we have no pets, so plenty of desert critters run through here and sometimes hang around.
Javelina, coyotes, road runners, quail, rabbits, and bobcats are frequent visitors.
Scorpions and reptiles, including rattlesnakes and lizards, hibernate in winter, but when the weather’s warm remember to look where you step.
If you see a rattlesnake, let us know and we’ll come catch it and relocate it.
We typically relocate 5 to 6 rattlesnakes during summer.
